APIs Available Now and Future Interoperability Announced

EDUCAUSE, Anaheim, CA – October 6, 2010 – Vidyo, Inc., the first company to deliver personal telepresence, today announced that Vidyo and Adobe will be demonstrating a plug-in that allows users to launch a telepresence-quality Vidyo™ conference within an Adobe® Connect™ session to collaborate with multiple parties. The plug-in will demonstrate the ability to integrate Vidyo and Adobe Connect using Vidyo APIs, and is the result of an ongoing collaboration to offer market leading solutions to the education market. Both companies will demonstrate the integrated solution during the annual 2010 EDUCAUSE Conference in Anaheim, California – October 13 – 15, 2010 — Vidyo Booth #507; Adobe will also demonstrate this at their Booth #2009 and during a presentation by John Schuman in Meeting Room 210A, 8–8:50 am, on Oct. 14.

Vidyo is the preferred videoconferencing solution for a growing number of learning centers, universities and K-12 educators, offering high-quality low-cost options for instructors and administrators. Adobe Connect is a market-leading suite of web conferencing software that allows users to securely share presentations and multimedia from their desktops via the Internet.

“Adobe offers educators world-class learning and collaboration tools,” said Guillaume Privat, director of product management, Adobe Connect. “We are excited to collaborate with Vidyo to demonstrate the first telepresence-quality video conference accessed from Adobe Connect. With a single click, our two award-winning products can be easily integrated to provide learning institutions and training centers with a powerful new collaboration tool. We look forward to our continued partnership with Vidyo.”

VidyoConferencing™ combined with Adobe Connect software for eLearning delivers a ‘best of breed’ collaboration tool that supports both large and small education establishments as the need for high quality, easy-to-use virtual learning tools continues to grow.”

“Telepresence has become a critical application for the research and higher education community that requires the ability to reliably collaborate at any distance,” said Mike LaHaye, Internet2 director of technical services.   “Internet2 is encouraged by the leadership that Vidyo has taken to innovate solutions in this space and by this powerful demonstration that shows the potential of what this technology can enable.”

Vidyo’s Expanded Portfolio for Education

Adobe Connect is the cornerstone of Adobe’s eLearning and collaboration solutions, enabling educators to teach, learn, and collaborate with their students in “virtual classrooms” — anywhere at any time.  As will be demonstrated at EDUCAUSE, the integration of Adobe’s “instant access” intuitive software with Vidyo’s “telepresence quality” multiparty video communications application takes the online education experience to a never-before achieved level.  The result is a comprehensive online learning and collaboration solution that is unequalled in the education market.
